My teaching approach is largely influenced by Stephen Krashen's Language Acquisition Theory, which asserts that with natural communication and meaningful interaction in the second language, children can acquire a second language as naturally and effortlessly as they learn their first language. I strongly believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged in activities that are enjoyable to them as well as educational. I aslo subscribe to Dr. Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence, which suggests that children and adults learn by means of eight different intelligence: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodilyu-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist. My lessons and activities will make sure to facilitate differentiated instruction to accomodate students with different learning styles and intelligence. With this insight in mind, I include a broad range of activities in my lessons: songs, rhymes and movements, role play, Total physical response, storytelling, arts and crafs, games, visualizations, creating mini-books, riddles, integrated technology, etc.
